PUPPET SCRIPT

"THE WRONG BOOK"
Scripture Reading Genesis 1:1-2, 4
PUPPETS: Dad & Butch
BUTCH: (Dad is off stage and Butch ponders) I still don't think this sounds right. The Bible says something quite different. Dad, (Dad appears) my science book doesn't teach creation like the Bible does.
DAD: That does present a little problem.
BUTCH: Well, Dad, my book says that many scientists believe that the earth and people and everything just HAPPENED to come into existence.
DAD: Well, Son, you might as well know right now that some books are wrong.
BUTCH: Really?
DAD: These books have been written by man, and man con sometimes make mistakes. But the Bible has no errors.
BUTCH: Because the Bible was inspired by God.
DAD: That's right. That's why we call it the Word of God,
BUTCH: I never thought of it that way before.
DAD: In addition to that, our common sense tells us that man couldn't have just HAPPENED.
BUTCH: That never did add up to me.
DAD: What if I told you that my car just HAPPENED -- that nobody put the engine, the body, the seats, the wheels, and all the other parts of my car together, but they just all came together by themselves.
BUTCH: Why, I'd tell you that was the craziest thing I ever heard.
DAD: You'd be absolutely right and the human body is far more complicated than the car.
BUTCH: We're not accidents. We are part of God's plan and creation.
DAD: How about you, boys and girls. have you heard people talk about evolution as if it were fact? Don't you believe it. God made the whole world and everything in it. He made you, He loves you, and He has a wonderful plan and purpose for your life. Bye everybody.
