"PUPPETS"

"WATCH YOUR MANNERS" Psalm 101:1-6 NIV Mom & EdithAnn

E-ANN: Mom, did you see what Butch did?

MOM: Yes, he reached right in front of you. But I also saw what you did.

E-ANN What was that?

MOM: You tried to wipe you knife off on his shirt.

E-ANN Well, it serves him right. If he wanted something on the table, he should ask for it

MOM: Oh, Miss Manners now, huh. What about you. You left the table and didn't excuse yourself. I know what I'll do, I'll start a contest between you and Butch. Each time you use good manners we will place a check mark by your name. And every time you goof up and use bad manners, like reaching in front of someone or wiping your knife on a shirt, we'll erase a mark.

E-ANN: Well, you might as well give the prize to Butch, I can't beat him. Even if I get gooder and gooder at remembering good manners....

MOM: You will EdithAnn. I'm going to help you and Dad is going to help Butch. I know you can do it EdithAnn because Mrs. Jones told me how good you were when you were over there the other night. I was so proud of you.

E-ANN: Really. How did you hear that from Mrs. Jones?

MOM: I ran into her at the Super Market and she was telling me. How come you can use good manners when you are away from home but when you get home, well, there goes the game.

E-ANN: Well, Mom, I'm going to surprise everyone. I'm going to have gooder manners at home.

MOM: That's nice EdithAnn. I hope Butch keeps up his good work. (speaks to boys & girls) Boys & Girls, how about you. Do you usually use your worse manners on your own family? Practicing good manners is important, and the place to begin is at home.

E-ANN: Yes, boys and girls, you & I need to be thoughtful and courteous. Ask the Lord to help you overcome the weaknesses in your manners. And pray for Butch, poor guy has a long way to go. By boys and girls.

MOM: By everyone. By Louise.
