PUPPET SCRIPT

"IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHERE YOU BELONG "
Scripture Reading Matthew 15:21-28
PUPPETS:Butch & Grandpa

BUTCH: Grandpa. Something happened at school today and I don't understand what happened.

GRANDPA: Why, did you have a surprise test?

BUTCH: No, nothing like that. You see, this new family moved into town and they have a boy my age. He came to school today and when he sat down, everybody moved away from him.

GRANDPA: What was the problem? Was he a nasty boy or what?

BUTCH: He was a nice, clean, polite boy.

    GRANDPA: What was the problem?

BUTCH: I think it had to do with the fact he was black.

GRANDPA: That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. A blind man was with a friend who didn't like black people and the blind man asked, "What's the big deal? There are only 2 kinds of people as far as I can tell, those who are kind or those who are not."

BUTCH: That's right. If we were blind, it certainly wouldn't matter what color skin people have. We would be more concerned about how they act.

GRANDPA: There's a verse in the Bible that says God doesn't see like people see. People look on the outward appearance, God looks at the heart. God doesn't care how we look.

BUTCH: For the preacher sake, I'm sure glad about that. God only cares about our heart. Do we love as Jesus loved. That's all that matters to God.

GRANDPA: That should be all that matters to us. How's your heart Butch?

BUTCH: I love like Jesus loved.

GRANDPA: That's all that matters. How's your heart today boys and girls?

BUTCH: I'll bet it's ok. Right boys and girls?

GRANDPA: I'm sure you are right, but we should always check. See you next week.

BUTCH: See you grandpa. See you boys and girls.
