PUPPETS: Sally & Mom

MOM: Well, Sally, I'm sure glad you were up on time this morning and that it was not a repeat of the other day.

SALLY: Yes, I know, I almost missed my bus. There must be something wrong with my alarm clock.

MOM: I suppose your right Sally. It has a snooze button. Which, by the way, you hit three times the other day before I came in and woke you up.

SALLY: You mean my alarm actually went off three times and I didn't wake up?

MOM: I didn't exactly say it didn't wake you up. I said you didn't get up.

SALLY: But how could that be?

MOM: It is like this. You woke up enough to reach up and hit the snooze button and slide back down under your covers and went back to sleep.

SALLY: Wow, that's hard to believe.

MOM: You can believe it Sally, and if I hadn't come in and woke you up myself, you would have be walking to school. Now for our morning devotions. Sally, would you read Romans 13:11-14?

SALLY: Yes, Mom: "And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature."

MOM: Thanks, Sally. You see, the other day when you were almost late for you bus, it reminded me of how some Christians are. In a way, God is sounding an alarm. He says 'you better wake up and live as you should live because the time is shorter and shorter.'

SALLY: The time of Jesus' return is getting close, huh Mom?

MOM: Just as we are starting the Advent season leading up to the celebration of Jesus' birth, we need to remember that this was the first time He came, we had better wake up and live for Him, because it won't be long until He returns.

SALLY: You mean, that one day it will be too late for people to be saved?

MOM: That's right Sally and people had better quite hitting the snooze button and ignoring the warning.

SALLY: Thanks Mom. How about you guys? Are you hitting the snooze button? Better wake up. Bye everybody.
