There are many reasons people don't go to church:
I never saw a real need to attend.
People in church are not interested in me. They're just interested in my money.
I used to go but found the messages to be irrelevant to the issues I face, the music to be from another era of history, the people to be cold and indifferent toward me, and the whole experience simply out of touch with my real needs. I stopped going!
I believe in God but who needs to go to church? I can spend time with Him on the golf course on Sundays. It's more fun.
I would go to church if they really helped our family, from my children on up, to develop spiritual values that satisfy our inner longings for a closeness to God.
Church was like personal hygiene... we just did it because we had to!
The list could go on and on.
Whatever reason, church never measured up to expectations. You might go if you saw it as being helpful to life in the '90's. If it was right. If it was different in style.
First Baptist Church takes a different approach to Sunday mornings, with practical messages, upbeat, contemporary music, and a friendly atmosphere. And if you're just checking First Baptist out, we don't even want your money.
